ULTA HAUL

12804715_992375397476736_8956431975873797051_n.jpgHelllooo everyone!!! So I kinda went a litttttttttttle crazy and went on another haul… except this time it was to Ulta! I didn’t go too insane this time, but I still did a teeny tiny bit of damage 😛 I really hope all of you are doing great and I hope you guys like what I got!

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade “Medium Brown”- Boy oh boy have I missed my brow wiz. I ran out of my pencil probably in August…. and I just now bought another! Haha, this time I bought the shade medium brown, because as I get tanner I really like to have a dark and bold brow!
  • Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner- IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!!!!!! I was torn between getting this and the Kat Von D liner, but since I was at Ulta this was my only option! However, I have heard AMAZE things about this, so I’m v excited to try this out!
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo Ella Henderson- I love Batiste dry shampoo, it’s the only one that really absorbs the grease in my hair, but this smell…. omg…… this is the best smelling one out there. The floral one is also very good, but this smells very similar to the Caress body wash in the scent Evenly Gorgeous (HG body wash). SOOOOOO I love this a lot and  couldn’t be anymore excited to try this out!

12115827_992375390810070_797110217884176292_n.jpg

(Everyone say hi to Oreo!!!! She hates pictures :P)

  • CoverGirl Plumpify Mascara- Not going to lie, I am extremely nervous about this product. I have never liked CG mascaras, but I have seen a few youtuber’s try this out and it really does look nice on their lashes! The wand is very similar to the Bareminerals Lash Domination (I believe that’s what it’s called) mascara, so I’m glad I found a cheaper looking version! I’ll report back to you guys about this one!
  • Nyx Waterproof Lip Liner in the shade “Nude Suede Shoes”- Nothing too exciting about this one, just a very pretty pinky nude lip loner for everyday use! It does claim that it will “Slide on, glide on, stay on & definitely turn on”, not too sure about the turn on part, but I am interested in seeing if it does all the other claims! 😛
  • Ardell Wispies & Soft Touch in “161” lashes- I’ve recently been interested in false lashes, I’m not sure why because I used to hate them! I bought pretty basics ones, so we shall see how this turns out!
  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter- This smells so good!!! I’ve heard nothing but great things about this lotion, so I’m super stoked to try it! The packaging is adorable, I just love it.

So that’s it for my mini Ulta haul! Have any of you tried any of these products?

Liebster Award Nomination

tumblr_mf1kuevhjq1qht5w5o1_1280.pngHey everyone! I woke up this morning to the pleasant surprise that I have been nominated by the amazing Madeleine from MaddAboutBeauty, for the Liebster Award! Thank you so much ❤ This award is to recognize and admire new bloggers that you have recently found and that you enjoy their work! It makes me so happy that someone out there finds my blog/ Instagram interesting!

With that being said, I have a few lovely ladies to nominate:

  1. Im Katy Notley
  2. The Awkward Chiic
  3. One Joyful Life
  4. Victorias Beauty Closet
  5. Life Across The Hudson

Here are the rules for this award:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and post a link to their blog.
  2. Answer the questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 5-11 bloggers who you feel deserve the award (normally bloggers with less than 1000 followers).
  4. Create a list of questions for your nominees to answer.
  5. Link your nominees to this post so they know they’ve been nominated.

Here are my questions for you guys to answer:

  1. What is your number one holy grail product?
  2. What is your favorite item from the drugstore?
  3. How long have you been blogging?
  4. What is one of your passions, aside from blogging?
  5. Where are you from?
  6. Who is your role model?
  7. Who is your favorite youtuber?
  8. Do you have a youtube channel? If so, link it down below!

Here are the answers to the questions I was asked:

  • How long have you been blogging and what made you start?

I’ve been blogging for about three months! I wanted to start blogging because I have a very big obsession with makeup and needed a place to talk about it all!

  • What do you hope to achieve with your blog?

What I hope to achieve with my blog is the satisfaction of knowing that I can help people find good products. I really love to review things and always give my 100% raw and honest opinion. I would really love to one day have a few thousand followers, but a girl can only dream! 😛

  • What was your first high end makeup purchase (if you have one)?

My first high end makeup product was Estee Lauder’s Double Wear foundation.

  • If you listed one in the answer above, do you still use it today? If you don’t have one yet, which do you think your first will be?

I actually don’t use it anymore because it was probably about 5 years ago when I first purchased it, and kind of just forgot about it when it ran out. However, writing this post made me remember how much I loved it so I might go buy more hehe!

  • Where is your favorite place to be?

My favorite favorite place to be would probably have to be at home. I really love being comfortable and being in a nice and calm place. I love to lay in bed and just relax, it makes me so happy! I suffer from really bad anxiety, and being at my apartment gives me terrible anxiety. With that being said, my favorite place to be specifically would have to be my boyfriends apartment. I know that sounds kind of weird, but his apartment is so comfortable and cozy to me and really relaxes me!

  • Where is somewhere new you’d like to visit?

A place I would like to visit would have to be Boston, Massachusetts. I am obsessed with history and would really love to go explore the city!

  • Do you subscribe to any monthly subscription services? Which is your favorite and why?

I am only subscribed to one monthly subscription and it is Ipsy. Guys, I cannot rave enough about Ipsy. It is SO inexpensive and you really do get great products. Sure there are months where I don’t really love what I get, but I love to try new things so it is always beneficial somehow! I used to be subscribed to Graze Box, which is boxes of healthy snacks that you receive I believe it was every two weeks or once a week. I cancelled it because they began to charge me for two boxes every time I got one, and I didn’t really love the snacks.

  • What is your favorite, ‘holygrail’ product?

My holygrail product would have to be Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Mascara. I have tried so many high end mascaras: They’re Real, Better Than Sex, Roller Lash, Smoky Extravagant, you name it, but NO mascara has ever compared to this one. It makes me lashes touch my eyebrows, not even kidding. I can’t do my makeup without this product. It really is the best thing out there.

  • On a day off, or after a long week, what is something you just HAVE to do?

On a day off or after a long week, something I have to do is watch Youtube videos. For some weird reason they really calm me down and get my mind off things. I love to watch morning routines, I love vlogs, and of course I love makeup tutorials.

  • What is one item in your skincare routine that you cannot be without?

If I’m being completely honest, I really don’t have a skincare routine *insert monkey covering eyes emoji*. I know that it sounds bad, but my routine changes every single day. Some days I wash my face two times a day, some days I use coconut oil to get my makeup off, some days I skip moisturizer, etc. I feel like one thing that I do use every time I take my makeup off, though is my Makeup Eraser cloth. These things are amazing and they really do remove all of your makeup, even waterproof!

Alright guys, that wraps up this post! I am so excited to see all of the answers to your questions!!! Thank you again Madeleine for nominating me! ❤

P.S.- Don’t forget to follow me on instagram: blisskris1 ❤

Today was an odd day

f5aa078d33b434a2ba24d2cca7de6af8

Today was an odd day and not because of anything in particular that happened. Two months ago I wrote a similar post to this one about being positive and to always try to have positive thoughts. But what happens when you have a day where staying positive is the last thing that you can possibly do? You might ask yourself, “Why do I feel this way?” or “When will I feel better again?” But the truth is, it’s completely normal to have days like this. Today was an odd day because for the first time in a very, very long time nothing seemed positive to me. I couldn’t share the happiness that the grandpa and his grandson had while I was serving them at work this morning. I couldn’t share the laughs with my coworkers as they were cracking up over a silly joke. No makeup video seemed entertaining to me. I wanted to be completely alone, however living in an apartment complex with 3 other people makes it practically impossible, even when you are in your room. My anxiety got the best of me. It made me sick, I bit every single one of my hard worked long nails off, and I didn’t eat until almost 10 pm. Why? Why were my emotions so out of control that I had to shut off my phone to make sure that I felt completely alone? It isn’t like something terrible happened to me. No one died, no one is sick, I didn’t lose my job, I have a car to get me where I need to go, and I am financially stable (okay.. maybe not so much). I’m writing this because I really do feel like it is frowned upon to be extremely upset without having a valid reason. “Well what’s wrong?” “What happened?” “Who upset you?” You don’t need to have an excuse, and that’s okay. I used to get so upset and mad at myself because I would be upset for no real reason, so that would make me upset because of the fact that I didn’t have a reason! Sure, I do have problems that bother me and that I struggle with everyday, but when it comes to the day that I just can’t handle it and I’m physically and mentally upset for no reason, you should know that it’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to want to be alone and not talk to anyone. It’s okay to watch Netflix all day and catch up on those three episodes of OITNB you skimmed over last summer. It’s okay to sleep all day. It’s okay to not be okay…….

What isn’t okay is to think that you won’t feel better. I know that it is easier said than done, especially when you are extremely upset. No matter what kind of awful day you had, tomorrow is a new day. No matter who isn’t there for you when you need them, no matter what negative things you think that day, THINGS WILL ALWAYS GET BETTER. I can’t stress this enough!!!!!!!!!!

Bad days happen, but as long as you do not let everyday become a bad day and remember that it will get better, you’re gonna be alright 🙂

Sorry for the late night-unmakeup related post, I ramble sometimes I know!!!

February Favorites

12806059_980207425360200_4152144316538335946_n

Want to know what’s funny? Exactly one month ago was the last time I posted a blog post, and that post was a procrastinated favorites post just like this one is! When am I going to get my life together?! Anyways, February was a great month for finding amazing new products! I have a few to share and I hope you enjoyyyyyyyyy!

MAKEUP:

  • Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream– GUYS. You need this in your life. This is a holy grail product for me. I use this every single day, unless I need full coverage for some reason (like never). It gives almost no coverage, but it really evens out your skin tone and makes you look alive. It smells really good and it is extremely inexpensive. I highly recommend!
  • MAC Prep + Prime FIX+ – Okay, so this finishing spray is amazing. You can use it for so many different things: finishing off your makeup, intensifying your eye shadows, and even in your hair. It does have a pretty strong scent to it. however it goes away after 15 seconds of you spraying it. A full sized bottle is only $22, how awesome is that?!
  • Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara– I really enjoy this product because of its lasting power. I can set my eyebrows with this bad boy at 11:00 am and they will still look perfect and in place by 8:00 pm! Very inexpensive and there is a good color selection!
  • Chosungah 22 So Tiny Lip & Cheek in Misty Pink– One thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love liquid blush. I feel like they really do look so natural and beautiful! With that being said, this blush is amazingggggggggg. At first the color might scare you because it is very neon pink, but once you blend it in it looks so natural. You only need the tiniest dab for both cheeks, smaller than a pea size. It’s lasted me over a month so far and I’m sure it will last me over six months!

12718044_980207462026863_6281631602438052590_n.jpg

  • Marc Jacobs Lip Creme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang– This is my newest staple item. I cannot get enough of this lipstick! It feels so amazing on my lips, almost like chap stick. It is so moisturizing and the color is the perfect shade for my fair, yellow under toned skin. I have the sample size that my mom got me and I am hlding onto it for dear life because of the simple fact that the full size of this is $30. I am all about blowing money on makeup but it’s just SO expenive for a lipstick! I know I’ll end up buying it, just because it is s perfect and the formula is so good! Marc Jacobs is a high end brand, so you gotta pay the high end price for it, I guess!

12798971_980207452026864_3154751503295349340_n.jpg

  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette– I used this palette almost every day in February. Maybe Valentines Day got to my head and I just wanted to have pink eyelids all month? I dunno. Either way this palette is so amazing if you have green eyes! Every shadow in this palette compliments them and I love it. My favorite shades out of the palette are Nooner, Trick, and Liar.
  • Ofra Eyebrow Pencil in Universal– I love this eyebrow pencil because it is very waxy. It will grab your hairs and then blend in so nicely with them. The color is great, also! The only complaint I have is it needs a spooly!
  • Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk– This product is amazing for two things: as an eye shadow base & for your waterline. This is great as a base because it really brightens up whatever color you apply on top of it! It’s great for your waterline because it opens up your eyes soooooo much. LOVE IT!

SKIN CARE

  • Garnier Skin Active Micellar Water in Waterproof– I really love this product because it is so good for removing makeup. It will literally make your makeup melt off! At first I was a little skeptical about it because it made my face oily, but now I like it because I feel like it really does help out and clean your skin!

BRUSHES

  • Real Techniques Blush Brush– IIIIIIIIII LLLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE TTTTTHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSS BBBBRRRRRUUUUUSSSSSHHHHH!!!!!!! This brush is probably one of my favorites ever. It’s so fluffy and amazing for applying blush (which I’ve been unnecessarily obsessed with lately). It’s so inexpensive and it really is one of RT’s best brushes.

NAILS

  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails XTREME wear Polish in Mauve Over– This color is so beautiful! It’s the perfect mauvey toned nail polish and these polishes are SO cheap. They last so long! The one downside is these take 374,683,399 years to dry and I hate it. But the color payoff is so good that I can look past it 😉

So there are alllll of my favorites for February! Are any of these your favorites?!

January Favorites

12661779_964963780217898_4688783051871630429_nHey everyone! Yay for late night posts! Sooooooooo just like with the rest of my life I procrastinated writing this post, BUT I’m here today to tell you all about my January favorite beauty products! Woooohoooo so exciting!!!! These are products that I found myself reaching towards almost every single day, they’re all amazing products and I hope you’ll try some of them after reading this!

MAKEUP

  • Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm- I love this stuff so much! It’s used as a primer and it’s so so good. It really does make my foundation stay on all day. It’s so inexpensive and I feel like the packaging is so nice and pretty. I would definitely recommend this!

BUY HERE

  • Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer- Goooood lawdddddd this is the best thing that’s ever happened to my face. This stuff is like cake. Good cake. Not cakey cake, but like….. really really full coverage not cakey, cake. 😀 I make a lot of sense, I know. ANWAYSSSSS, this stuff rocks. I have the shade Light Warm, and its just the right shade of highlight. On days when I don’t feel like wearing foundation (pretty much everyday) I just apply this to the areas that need coverage and it’s perfect. Way better than NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I will always have this stocked in my makeup collection!

BUY HERE

  • Elf Lip Stain in Crimson Crush- This is such an awesome discovery for me! I absolutely love this shade. I love the lip stain idea, it really does stain my lips and once it’s dry it doesn’t transfer AT ALL! It’s so inexpensive, and if you’re like me who hates having to reapply lipstick all day you will love this!

BUY HERE

  • Ultra Flesh The Gold Standard Mascara- If I have to be honest, I have zero ideas about where this mascara came from. I’m not sure if it was in Ipsy, maybe my mom gave it to me, I don’t know. What I do know is that this is PERFECT for bottom lashes. The tiny little wand really gets into my lashes and makes them so pretty! When I run out of this I’m going to be so sad because even though I found a link for it, I’m not sure that it’s the exact same one I have making it hard to find. 😦 I will continue to search for this itty bitty widdle mascara!!!!

BUY HERE

  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette- First things first: this palette is the realest. I mean who WOULDN’T love a palette that smells like chocolate?! The answer is no one. Everyone should buy and love this palette. You can create so many looks with this super pigmented and versatile chocolate bar! I would recommend this over the Naked 1 palette! I reaaaaalllyyy want the Semi Sweet one, more than I want the Bon Bon one. 10/10 would recommend!!!!!!!

BUY HERE

  • NYX HD Blush in “Taupe”- I think I wrote a review on this a few weeks back, but I actually use this as a cool toned contour, and it is ammaaazzzzzeeeeeee. It is so inexpensive and so pigmented and blendable. It is such a natural contour shade and I like it so much more than my Anastasia Contour Kit.

BUY HERE

SKIN CARE

  • Freeman Feeling Beautiful Avocado & Oatmeal Clay Mask- Wow that name is a mouthful! This face mask is so amazing! It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth and healthy. I use it 2-3 times a week, depending on how my skin is. There is one con, and it’s that it smells kind of bad once it set on your skin. But other than that, it is sooo easy to take off and it makes my skin feel so good!

BUY HERE

BRUSHES

  • Sedona Lace 850- This brush is so amazing for applying blush. I love Sedona Lace’s brushes, they just apply and blend so nicely. This brush makes me super happy when it comes to blush, it just applies it so seamlessly, I’m sure it could apply anything to your face beautifully! The brushes are pretty pricey, but they’re worth it.

BUY HERE

  • Elf Powder Brush- There’s not much to say about this brush other than it blends everything out on my face seamlessly. It’s such a good brush that’s SO cheap. I think it was like $3-$4. BUY IT!!!!!!

BUY HERE

  • Real Techniques Sculpting Brush- This is hands down my favorite brush that I own. In January I finally figured out how to love it, and that’s by using it to lend out foundation and concealer. This brush….. hold on I need a minute. This is the best brush in the entire world. Thank you Real Techniques for inventing my very own brush child. If I had to use only one brush forever, it would be this one. Get. This. Brush.

BUY HERE

I feel like I had a lot of favorites for January. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so, but I just love discovering good products and hope you guys try some of my recommendations!!!!!!

Garnier Micellar Water Review

12654594_961776073870002_4207096558630193705_n

Hey everyone! I’m so excited about this post!!!!! Today I’m going to be reviewing the Garnier Micellar Water. I got the waterproof one, just because we all know waterproof mascara is the only way I go. This product generally goes for around $7.00. I got mine from Walmart where it was $6.96, but I know at places like Target and Ulta it’s a littttttle more expensive.

Buy it here!

The Process

Okay, so I start out by wetting my face (I’m not sure if you really need to do this, but I do because I’m weird). I then take a cotton ball and soak the product into the ball, and start wiping my face. I did notice that I need to use about 3 cotton balls to get my eye makeup off, maybe because I wear a lot of mascara, but it’s kind of annoying. The face makeup comes off with absoutley no problem or hassle! It’s amaaaaaazzziiingggg. It takes me about a minute to two minutes to take everything off. Now, it does say that there’s no need to rinse, but the first time I used it I did rinse, only because it leaves a baby oil feeling finish on my skin. However, the second time I used it I let the product sit in my skin, in hopes that it may help my skin? I don’t know. I then apply my moisturizer on top and wa-lah! all done.

The Review

I would have to give this product a 8/10 rating. The reason I give it that is really just because of the finish it leaves on my skin. It makes me feel weird haha, it feels like straight up baby oil and I don’t know about you guys, but I hate that! As far as what it actually does for my skin, it really helped clear up my breakouts. I use it twice a day- in the morning and at night along with my moisturizer. Before this I would use my makeup wipes and then my moisturizer (not a good skin routine, oops), but this really does help my skin feel clean! I would recommend this product, just beware of the baby oil finish!

New Found Love: L’oreal Telescopic Mascara

12439012_960497137331229_3077936311744132420_nHelllloooo everyone! Sorry I have been inactive for a few days, I hope you’re all doing well! Today I’m going to be talking about a product that I recently hopped on the band wagon and bought and it is the L’oreal Telescopic Mascara in the shade “Carbon Black”!

Ohhhhh emmmm geeeeeee, this is the best thing that’s even happened to me. It’s almost surpassing my holy grail Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara! It has the tiniest little wand, and I’m not going to lie when I first looked at the wand the exact words that came out of my mouth were, “I’m going to hate this mascara.” HOWEVER, when I applied it my lashes looked so pweeetty *inserted whining emoji*. I used two coats on my top lashes and they look sooooooooo long! My lashes literally touch my eyebrows and I laaaaaaav it. Sorry for the excessive extra letters, I’m just reaaaaally excited about this (okay, I’m done :P) Anyways, I tried to find this mascara in a waterproof formula but they didn’t have one at Walmart! Booooo, so sad. I really need to find one because ya girl prefers waterproof mascara all the time. This mascara defintiley goes after length and not volume. I prefer my lashes to look extremely long and skinny, not short and thick. So if you don’t like straight and skinny lashes, this probably isn’t for you.

If you want an amazing drug store mascara that makes your lashes look amaazzzzeeee, then buy this! IT. WILL. CHANGE. YO. LIFE.

Kristyn

Positive Thoughts

thQHZV3APG

These past few weeks have been the most difficult weeks of my entire life. I’ve been struggling internally with problems that I didn’t even know were there, along with problems in my everyday life. I’ve turned to talking to everyone about my problems to talking to no one at all and completely shutting myself out. I’ve felt so many different things in this past month or so and it’s really been a challenge. However, I’m blessed with some amazing people in my life. From my awesome family to my bestfriends and even my amazing boyfriend, I know that no matter what happens or how I feel I will always have the best support group I could possibly have. Life is really crazy sometimes but I feel like things are always going to work out in the way that they should. Bad things happen everyday but at the end of the day, things are how they are meant to be. I’ve learned to cope and deal with my struggles by setting everyday goals, keeping my room extremely clean, writing in a planner, getting enough sleep, eating breakfast everyday, and always setting aside time for myself. It really is the little things that can help. As time goes on I realize that things can really only go up. It’s an exciting feeling to know that things can and will get better. So as long as you stay positive and look for the light at the end of the tunnel, things are going to be fine 🙂
